Siemens, Adva win down under

Australian telecom carrier Telstra has signed a a three-year contract with German infrastructure vendor Siemens IC Networks to build a nationwide 10 Gb/s optical backbone. The buildout will include Siemens' Surpass hiT 7000-series multiservice provisioning platform, its 7500 long-haul DWDM equipment, and the Fiber Service Platform (FSP) 3000 metro infrastructure system from Adva Optical Networking.
