Exclusively on the Europe Online Internet-based entertainment network the "Kurzfilm Kanal" has been created to showcase on the Internet and support the exciting world of short films made by filmmakers from Germany and around the world.
“The Europe Online Short Film Channel is a dynamic forum presenting the variety and richness of produced short films, which are often overshadowed by costly productions," said John Morris, chief operating officer.
The popularity of the short film genre is increasing continuously as the numerous festivals such as the well-known Short Film Festival of Clermont-Ferrand (France) or the International Short Film Festival of Hamburg (Germany) testify.
The "Kurzfilm Kanal" presents Europe Online’s emerging brand of truly interactive entertainment. On the “Kurzfilm Kanal”, Europe Online subscribers can watch short films and exclusive interviews with some of today’s most visionary independent filmmakers in digital on their PC screens while reading editorial, posting reviews on the short film bulletin board, linking to and using film-related websites, participating in scheduled online chats with filmmakers, artists or each other, or shopping online for movies or DVDs.
The “Kurzfilm Kanal” features the works of famous German short film producers and young talents like Sandra Schießl, Till Nikolaus Hardy, Eva Süttelin, Daniel Nocke and Carsten Strauch who present their works in categories across the short film genre including fantasy, fiction, documentary, animation, silent films and others.
With its hybrid terrestrial and satellite-based Internet network, Europe Online presents to filmmakers and producers a unique opportunity to show and, if desired, digitally distribute their short films on the Internet in the digital quality they intended their short films to be seen.
