The company indicated that the applications were supported by each state's public utility commission. Currently, SBC services more than 2.8 million long-distance lines in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.

SBC had withdrawn its Missouri application in June in order to respond to FCC requests for additional information regarding its pricing, access to installation and repair databases, and compliances with a recent court decision on the resale of advanced services, the company said.

"During the course of the initial proceedings, FCC staff raised a number of questions that SBC simply required more time to answer in light of the 90-day statutory deadline. We respond fully to those questions in today's filing," said Priscilla Hill Ardoin, SBC senior vice president-FCC, in a statement.
