Sales and marketing VP Balos leaves AFC
Mehmet Balos, the longtime senior vice president of global sales, marketing and customer service for Advanced Fibre Communications, has left the company as of Monday to pursue other opportunities.

The company currently is “realigning the organization” to separate sales and marketing roles.
While AFC is searching internally and externally for Balos’ replacement, John Schofield, the company’s chairman, president and CEO, will take on the duties of acting vice president of global sales. Corey Geiger, AFC’s vice president of operations and quality, will handle Balos’ marketing and customer service duties.
An AFC spokesperson offered no further comment on Balos’ departure.
