Riverstone and Tellabs trade complaints

In complaints filed in separate courts, Riverstone Networks and Tellabs are accusing each other of breach of contract stemming from actions taken as part of their strategic alliance Tellabs terminated this week.

Riverstone claims Tellabs failed to make its minimum purchases as the companies had agreed, while Tellabs claims Riverstone missed several development milestones and that Riverstone’s products never do not meet the contractual requirements to handle voice traffic.

Tellabs has been selling Riverstone’s next-generation, router-based cable-modem termination system (CMTS) head-end product. Riverstone intends to continue to market and sell its line of router-based CMTS products in collaboration with its partners and through its direct sales force.
