RHK reports DSLAMs up

DSLAM shipment volume grew by roughly 21% in third quarter compared with the second quarter, reaching 11 million total ports, according to analyst firm RHK. Alcatel, which has the lead supply contract with all four RBOCs, led the quarter with a 35% rolling four-quarter share. NEC moved up into number two market share spot, bumping UTStarcom into third, followed by Sumitomo. At the same time, CMTS volume fell 4% over the second quarter with 39,000 ports shipped. Cisco remained the market share leader with a 44% share, followed by Arris with 21% share. Motorola held onto third with 11%, trailed by ADC.
