Powell wants Tramont for FCC chief of staff

FCC Chairman Michael Powell said today he would appoint Bryan Tramont commission chief of staff, replacing Marcia MacBride, who resigned earlier this week after serving in the position since Powell became chairman in 2001. Tramont currently serves as Powell’s senior legal advisor and previously had served in the same capacity for current Commissioner Kathleen Abernathy and former Commissioner Harold Furchtgott-Roth. Prior to joining the FCC, Tramont was an attorney with the Washington, D.C., law firm Wiley Rein and Fielding. He is a graduate of George Washington University and Yale Law School.
