Occam lands three Wisconsin IOCs

Occam Networks said three members of Wisconsin’s Midwest Tel Net consortium--Hillsboro Telephone, LaValle Telephone Cooperative and Richland-Grant Telephone Cooperative--are in various states of deployment on its BLC 6000 platform to deliver triple play services. Hillsboro Tel became the first independent in the state to deploy the system and is replacing five different types of loop carriers over the next 18 months. LaValle Tel will provide all of its subscribers with advanced broadband by the end of 2005 while positioning itself to jump into the voice over IP market. Richland-Grant Tel plans to install the BLC 6000 in five COs and 23 remotes.
