Nortel Succession gets PacketCable approval

Nortel Networks said today that its Succession Communication Server 2000 has been given CableLabs’ PacketCable stamp of approval as part of certification wave 26. The designation is key to Nortel’s efforts to move into the voice-over-IP market with cable operators. The vendor already is deeply embedded in the circuit-switched cable telephony world with its equipment providing service to more than 4.7 million cable telephony lines around the world.
