Nokia shares sink in response to research note

Nokia’s shares slid today as a result of Mandatum Bank’s research note questioning the company’s ability to meet its sales target for the third quarter. The research firm’s anxiety was based on weak market conditions.

In other news, Nokia announced that it has successfully completed a wideband CDMA voice call via a commercial 3rd Generation Partnership Program [3GPP] system. The call was conducted using a 3GPP standard-compatible commercial network and commercial versions of Nokia 3GPP standard-compatible mobile terminals in WCDMA and GSM modes.

Representatives of Finnish operators Radiolinja and Sonera placed the call between Nokia’s laboratories in Oulu and Salo, Finland.
