Nokia CEO Ollila to stay another five years

Nokia’s board of directors has agreed to extend Chairman and CEO Jorma Ollila’s contract for an additional five years.

The Nokia decision comes just days after it was announced that Ericsson Chairman Lars Ramqvist would step down from his position, reportedly because of criticism regarding Ericsson management’s reaction to the current market performance for mobile communications equipment.

Ollila, who joined Nokia in 1985, was appointed president and CEO in 1992 and has been chairman and CEO since 1999.
