Netscreen holds IPO

In one of the first significant IPOs in the communications sector in months, Netscreen Technologies went public on the Nasdaq stock market yesterday.

Netscreen, which makes security systems and appliances, priced 10 million shares of stock at $16 each. Both the number of shares being offered and price per share were increased in the days prior to the IPO. Netscreen’s stock closed at $23.72 at the end of its first day of trading.
