"NDS's New York office has been established with the objective of driving the transformation of interactive television from a promise to marketplace reality in the United States," said Abe Peled, president and chief executive officer.
"The new office will focus on creating and deploying interactive television applications and systems that address the urgent business concerns that broadcasters and content providers have of delivering a fast time-to-value in the U.S. digital television space. It will also address the interests and needs of the broad US TV viewing public by developing interactive TV applications that consumers want most and will find the greatest value and entertainment in."
Led by Moshe Kranc, vice president of interactive applications for NDS Americas, the New York office will be able to draw upon NDS's ability to create interactive applications and systems that are already deployed for broadcasters and content providers.
NDS supplies many technologies and applications for BSkyB in the U.K.
The addition of the New York office to NDS offices in California and Florida will enhance local customer support capabilities, including support for Cablevision and iBlast.
NDS offers customers three solutions including interactive television applications and systems, conditional access and data broadcasting. United States broadcasters and content providers who take advantage of NDS's ITV technology will be able to select services developed that will be based on NDS's solutions.
