Nagravision's IP conditional access system will allow Geocast to ensure that only authorized users have access to Geocast content. The Nagravision solution, combined with other elements of the Geocast network, allows Geocast to provide a solution for content protection and security.

"Providing a compelling and flexible service, while assuring our content partners that their content will be distributed securely, is a high priority for Geocast" said Naresh Makhijani, vice president of product and program management for Geocast Network Systems Inc. "Nagravision's leading technology and stellar reputation made them an ideal partner for us."

Adding conditional access to Geocast's security systems provides an additional layer of control and protection for content delivery.

"As an innovator in digital content delivery, Geocast is an important next step for Nagravision's involvement in the broadcasting industries convergence with the PC," said John Markey, chief marketing officer of Nagravision. "Numerous content providers are running Nagravision's conditional access systems to full satisfaction, making us a reliable source for security solutions over broadcast and broadband networks."

Geocast will adopt the Nagravision technology to offer its content partners the ultimate in control and flexibility for managing access to content. The Geocast solution for content management will enable the secure delivery its content providers will need to offer services such as subscription, premium and pay-per-view.
