In July, Myrio will introduce the second version of its software platform, the result of the company’s alliances with Equator and SecureMedia.
“We have broken down the barrier to mass deployment of entertainment on demand,” Manne said.
Most video-on-demand offerings lack hardware interoperability, security capabilities and fail to cost effectively use existing infrastructure, Manne said. Myrio’s solution enables providers to deliver interactive TV, entertainment on demand and high-speed Internet access to the TV and IP networks. It can be software upgraded, he added.
The system also can support entertainment services over today’s DSL networks, said John O’Donnell, co-founder and chief technology officer of Equator.
Equator is providing the broadband signal processor. SecureMedia is providing an end-to-end security system that boosts the protection of MPEG streams and video applications.
“We’ll now have an end-to-end offering
for providers to offer content,” Manne said.
