Moody’s reviews telecom debt

Moody’s Investors Service has placed the debt ratings of 17 wireline service providers under review, citing a worsening economy that could put pressure on companies’ cash positions.

Among the companies under review are: Flag Telecom; ITC DeltaCom; Allegiance Telecom; McLeodUSA; Level 3 Communications; Williams Communications; XO Communications and Focal Communications.

Moody’s also changed the outlook for five companies to “negative,” including Broadwing and Time Warner Telecom.
