McLeodUSA acquires Intelispan
McLeodUSA revealed yesterday that it would purchase Intelispan, a managed network solutions company that specializes in business-to-business communications. McLeodUSA hopes to take advantage of Intelispan’s virtual private network services and products in an effort to strengthen its data product offerings.

Valued at $40 million, the all-stock acquisition will enable McLeodUSA to offer secure VPNs and other services, including two signature Intelispan products--automated diagnostic tool and one-button dialing--to corporate customers.
Intelispan will become a subsidiary of McLeodUSA. In addition, CEO Lee Provow will take on a senior level management role at McLeodUSA.
