Lucent says cdma2000 equipment is ready
Lucent Technologies announced the commercial availability of cdma2000 1X equipment and software, claiming it is the first vendor to do so in North America. Lucent said it is installing and testing the equipment with customers worldwide. 1X doubles the capacity on current CDMA networks and adds data transmission speeds of up to 144 K/ps.
