Louisiana commission supports BellSouth 271 application
The Louisiana public service commission (PSC) has filed comments with the FCC that endorse BellSouth’s resubmitted application to provide in-region long-distance service under Section 271 of the Telecom Act.

The PSC noted that BellSouth has complied with rates for unbundled network elements that were updated by the commission in September 2001. As a result, competitive carriers operating in the state have “expanded their reach” into local markets for both residential and business customers, according to the commission.
