Liberty Broadband to acquire Wink

Liberty Broadband Interactive Television is adding Wink Communications to its increasingly strong stable of interactive TV products. LBIT said today it would acquire all the outstanding stock of the mass-market interactive TV service that is available through cable, satellite and broadcast channels, for $3 in cash per share.

Wink will continue to operate as a wholly owned LBIT subsidiary under the leadership of current CEO Maggie Wilderotter and her management team. The deal has the approval of Wink’s board of directors and is subject to Wink’s shareholders. If all parties agree, it will be completed during the third quarter of the year.
