Level 3 does 8x8 while 8x8 does 7x24

8x8 and Level 3 Communications announced this week an arrangement to add more than 300 U.S. markets to the Packet8 VoIP service. Using Level 3's (3)VoIPSM Local Inbound Service, 8x8's Packet8 residential VoIP service covers more than 2,400 rate centers in the U.S., including recently added cities such as Flagstaff, Ariz., Beverly Hills, Calif., Bloomington, Ill., and Rockaway, N.J. With the addition of these new area codes and calling centers, the Packet8 service covers as broad an area as any VoIP provider, according to 8x8 CEO Bryan Martin.

Level 3’s (3)VoIP Local Inbound service now reaches more than 80% of the U.S. population and enables its service provider customers to establish an immediate local presence in more than 300 markets across the United States. Separately, 8x8 also announced that its Packet8 customer care line is now available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
