Twenty-four public safety agencies within Lapeer County joined forces to form the Lapeer County consortium, which spent two years researching the market for an off-the-shelf software package.
The implementation of the software will set the foundation for the consortium’s plan to share MICR-compliant law enforcement records management data, NFIRS 5.0 Fire RMS data, and Inmate Management data among all participating agencies.
"The CAD and Mobile software will provide the agencies with a package that lets them share information across jurisdictional boundaries, including mobile data, on a county-wide scale," said Jim Crichton, Lapeer County E9-1-1 director.
According to a company press release, with VisionCAD, users have the ability to dispatch units from multiple departments, view vital data from a single screen and configure features to meet agency-specific needs. Visionmobile will provide officers in the field with instantaneous access to information such as new messages, dispatch information and NCIC hits.
The software’s integration abilities will allow patrol unit officers to status themselves, create officer-initiated calls and send and receive chat messages, while VisionCAD telecommunicators will be able to perform silent dispatching.
