ITXC interoperating between Cisco, VocalTec IP telephony platforms
Voice-over-IP (VoIP) network provider ITXC Corp. is transparently and interoperably routing voice and fax calls over gateways provided by both Cisco Systems and VocalTec. ITXC had been working with both vendors for three years and had been testing interoperability in its labs since early August prior this week’s commercial launch.

ITXC and VocalTec were two of the founders of the iNOW! Initiative that developed a profile document for vendors seeking to provide interoperable gateway-to-gateway and gatekeeper-to-gatekeeper services over IP networks. The commercial launch is recognition that this effort is taking hold within the VoIP industry, the company said.
