IP/DSL set-top sales increasing

Shipments of the IP/DSL set-top boxes will reach 500,000 by the end of this year and top 1 million in 2004, according to new research from In-Stat/MDR. Though the boxes have been on the market since the early 1990s, the movement of DSL providers into video services is expected to be the key driver. However, through 2007, Asian and European service providers will make up a larger percentage of the market than their North America counterparts.
