Internap extends footprint to the Midwest

Private routing company Internap has signed a deal to use U.S. Signal’s fiber backbone to link Internap’s customers in Indiana, Michigan and Illinois into a private network access point (P-NAP) in Chicago. The P-NAP bypasses congested public peering points, giving Internap customers priority access to high-speed Internet backbones and allowing them to transmit and receive data more efficiently. U.S. Signal will provide local loop and backhaul services connecting enterprises directly to Internap’s network of P-NAPs.
