Inkra-mental increase in security at EDS

Inkra Networks will put its virtual service switches (VSS) into the data centers of EDS to help beef up security and induce more network efficiency in the form of firewalls and load balancing for EDS’ network-based services. Inkra's switches use network and security virtualization technology to integrate multiple IP services such as firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection and prevention, SSL Accelerators and load balancers onto a single, centrally managed platform that delivers the functionality of hundreds of separate network devices. EDS will initially deploy Inkra switches in its Plano Service Management Center, with plans to expand deployment to the Oklahoma and London Service Management Centers. EDS anticipates better operational efficiencies in the areas of security, network and IP service provisioning, and ordering and installing security and network infrastructure equipment.
