IAD market ballooning

The market for Internet acess devices is expected to jump almost 30% this year and continue growing at an annual rate of 15.5% through 2007, according to In-Stat/MDR.In terms of unit sales, the company is predicting the market to go from about 427 million IADs in 2002 to about 880 million in 2007. However, the company takes a fairly wide view of what is included in the IAD market, lumping in PCs, Internet capable mobile phones, set-top boxes and smart appliances.
