German authority prohibits Liberty Media acquisition

Liberty Media will not appeal Germany’s Federal Cartel Office’s decision prohibiting its acquisition of six regional cable television companies from Deutsche Telekom and associated transactions, the company said today.

Additionally, Liberty said that it expects its acquisition with Deutsche Telekom will be terminated. Liberty also intends to terminate its agreement to acquire Level 4 cable systems from TeleColumbus GmbH that was conditioned on completion of the Deutsche Telekom deal.
