Egyption natural gas will be exported to other Middle Eastern countries, as well as to Europe, via two 400-kilometer pipelines that are to be constructed in four months, ending four years later.

The natural gas willl be shipped to Lebanon, Syria and Jordan. The pipeline project will cost about a $1 billion to build.

The Middle East Gas Company, an Egyptian government-owned firm, will reportedly transport natural gas under the Mediterranean sea from an area east of the town of El-Arish on the Sinai Peninsula's Mediterranean coast to the northern Lebanese port city of Tripoli near the Syrian border.
