DCSA accepts Merlin proposal

Merlin Communications' proposal for the operation, maintenance and support of the radio stations at Inskip and Crimond has been accepted by the DCSA, an agency of the Ministry of Defense (MoD), and part of the Defense Logistics Organization.

The sites in Lancashire and Aberdeenshire respectively are part of the DCSA network, providing low and high frequency communication services for Defense.

The contract will start on the April 1, 2001, for an initial period of two years, with a two-year extension negotiable on completion.

"The DCSA are pleased to work alongside Merlin, whose innovative approach and proven track record are essential elements of the partnership approach we looked for in selecting a contractor for this opportunity," said Paul Wearmouth, the DCSA's ead of radio. "We look forward to a long and productive relationship."

Merlin's Director of Global Facilities, Kevin Cawood said: "This contract is a significant milestone in the development of our relationship with the DCSA, and is part of our strategy to provide critical communications facilities management services to prestigious customers, which will see us further enhance our Facilities Management business."
