Convergys, Compaq sign billing and customer care deal

“This is a great example of the value of the acquisition we’ve made of Geneva,” said Randy Mysliviec, senior vice president of marketing for Convergys. “We leveraged a great product into a next-generation service that Compaq is offering.”
The deal is Convergys’ first service bureau contract using its Geneva Active Revenue Management software for both billing and customer care services. The vendor also will provide contact care services for billing and activation customer care support for Compaq.
Currently Compaq is performing only flat-rate billing, but the company has the option to choose a more flexible billing architecture as needed. “They can pick and choose the service-type plans they want to offer,” Mysliviec said.
This deal does not mark the first time that Convergys and Compaq have worked together. According to Mysliviec, the two companies have worked together in customer care for years. Nor does it mark the first time the company has worked with hardware manufacturers. The company also has established relationships with the likes of Palm and OmniSky.
