CompTel asks FCC to toss Verizon’s TELRIC petition

The Competitive Telecommunications Association yesterday filed a petition with the FCC that asks the commission to reject Verizon Communications’ July 2003 request for a comprehensive review of its TELRIC rules. The trade group said Verizon’s petition “simply repeats arguments … which have been previously considered and rejected by the commission,” and alleged that the RBOC’s true goal is to gain interim relief from its TELRIC obligations. It has been widely speculated that the FCC will soon announce an open proceeding on TELRIC.
