Currently available, the solution is a service activation and provisioning solution that combines the functionality of the CommWorks 5020 Intelligent Activation System relocation manager software and the CommWorks 5029 Customer Notification System.
The Provisioning Manager lets service providers customize their service-ordering procedures while reducing errors in service activation, because it removes manual processing of orders.
“Our solution allows you to [differentiate your product and generate more revenue] without adding to the complexity of your solution or having to add people to manage it on the back end,” said Glen Hellman, vice president and general manager of the operations support system division of CommWorks.
A couple of carriers are negotiating with CommWorks to use the combined product, Hellman said. No beta testing occurred for the unified product because the existing stand-alone products, the 5029 and the 5020 are currently in use.
“[Carriers] need to buy something that makes [them] more competitive, has the opportunity for raising more revenue, or reduces cost,” Hellman said. “Unified messaging...allows you to differentiate yourself, [and] it allows you to generate more revenue than standard voice mail.”
