CMS scores with Nortel DMS
Columbus, Ohio-based CMS Communications has successfully integrated its network management OSS with Nortel Network's Supernode Data Manager (SDM). CMS' traffic collection and analysis platform, Traffic Data Management System, completed successful lab trials and is now collecting live operational measurement and traffic data from the Nortel SDM at a joint ILEC customer. Nortel's SDM is a fault, configuration, accounting, performance and security (FCAPS) platform for wireline and wireless environments. It also supports packet telephony and UMTS. The SDM also serves as an element management system for Nortel's Succession Communications Server 2000 softswitch platform.
