CLECs ask federal court to step in on special access petition

A coalition of businesses, competitive carriers—including AT&T—and industry associations—including ALTS and the CompTel/Ascent Alliance—this week asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to force the Federal Communications Commission to rule within 45 days on a petition filed more than a year ago. The petitioners are seeking protection from overcharges for special access service that total more than $5 billion annually.
