The announcement expands upon an earlier relationship between Cingular and WatchMark, under which WatchMark provided similar services for Cingular’s 2G network.

The exact length and value of the revised deal were not disclosed, though WatchMark said it was a multi-million dollar agreement. Under the terms of the contract, Cingular will use WatchMark’s Prospect software suite to help monitor, maintain and improve network performance, troubleshoot problems and plan capacity and future growth. Unlike the 2G deal, the new revised contract also includes monitoring of certain value-added services such as voicemail. --Toby Weber, staff writer
