Cingular names new president, CEO
Cingular Wireless today named SBC group president and COO Stan Sigman as its new president and chief executive officer.Sigman, who assumes his position immediately, replaces Stephen Carter, who will assume the title of vice president at SBC.
The appointment of Sigman comes just a couple of weeks after BellSouth and SBC, which jointly own Cingular, reported that the company ended the third quarter with 22.1 million subscribers reflecting a flattening of growth throughout the industry.
