Capcom tabs Acme Packet for peering

Spanish IP telephony carrier Capcom International has selected Acme Packet’s Net-Net session border controllers for peering its H.323 network with other service provider IP networks throughout the world. Capcom is using Acme Packet’s equipment to expand in Europe and peer with other H.323 or SIP-based network providers in North America, Latin America and Asia. Though most carriers are transitioning to SIP, enough H.323 gear is in use that it justifies a multi-protocol approach, said Jim Hourihan, vice president of marketing and product management for Acme Packet.
