California Utility to Lay Off Thousands
The energy crisis in California has hit Southern California Edison hard--the utility will lay off 1,450 full-time, part-time, temporary, contract and supplemental and contingency jobs.

Southern California Edison laid off 400 employees last month, bringing the total job reductions related to the utility's current fiscal crisis to 1,850.
In addition to the layoffs, the utility will reduce operation costs across the board by $465 million.
