CableLabs issues first CableHome specifications
CableLabs has issued specifications for CableHome 1.0 that provide manufacturers with a common approach to distribute broadband services inside consumer homes. Certification testing of products is expected later this year.

CableHome’s aim is to provide a home networking solution that includes provisioning of residential gateway devices as well as tools that enable cable operators to diagnose and resolve home networking issues. It also offers firewall management and upgrade functionality, as well as guaranteed service quality.
