Struwas will remain with the company temporarily as a consultant as Pickle takes over DSL.net reins. Pickle comes from several previous high-profile telecom positions, among them top executive positions at UUNET, the IP backbone network now owned MCI, the controversial Teligent, a broadband wireless venture that went bankrupt, and Velocita, where he served as CEO and president and oversaw its financial restructuring. He has also at various times worked in sales and operations positions at Sprint, MCI, AT&T and MFS Communications.
