Under the new Managed Firewall-–Silver package, business customers can subscribe to a managed solution that includes security software and hardware from Check Point and Nokia, as well as managed security services from Internet Security Systems. Previously, the company has offered these services only to its largest business customers.
“We’ve heard quite a bit from our customers that they don’t have the expertise to do a managed firewall,” said Ken Kraft, senior director of BellSouth Business’ Customer Markets group.
With the new package, BellSouth will target single-site customers with less than 100 IP addresses who have at least a single T-1 line. Aside from providing the software and hardware, BellSouth also will provide 24-hour monitoring and administration service along with on-line access to its BellSouth Security Management System for reports and service requests. ISS will act as BellSouth preferred managed security provider for both domestic and international markets.
Under the Silver program, customers
will have Nokia’s IP110 and IP330 security appliances that
integrate Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 installed on their site.
