The new Business Services organization will be segmented into three organizations: professional services and outsourcing, which will feature services formerly provided by AT&T Solutions and AT&T Government Markets; managed services and hosting, which includes IP, VPN, managed router services and managed data networking; and connectivity services, which includes frame relay, ATM, and other data and voice transport products.

As part of the reorganization, Kathleen Earley, former president of AT&T Data and Internet Services, and Brian Maloney, former president of AT&T Solutions, will be reassigned.

Mary Jane McKeever will head the professional services and outsourcing unit, while managed services and hosting will be taken over by Robin Young. Barbara Perda will lead the connectivity services group.

“Because of how we were situated, there were some managed services acquired from IBM under the AT&T Global Network Services, some in Data & Internet Services, and some at the high end in AT&T Solutions,” the spokesman said. “Dave Dorman [president of AT&T] is looking at how to make the most of what we have in our kit bag and bring areas of like expertise together, rather than having them fragmented.”

The Business Services sales group will also be reconfigured, with the AT&T Solutions salesforce being consolidated with the main AT&T salesforce. Ken Sichau will continue to head the sales organization.

Earley will take over responsibility for marketing all of AT&T’s enterprise networking products, according to the spokesman. Her title has not been determined.

The spokesman said AT&T did not release an official announcement about the restructuring because “how we are organized internally we don’t think is news in itself,” he said.
