Alabama hospital gets wireless LAN from BellSouth

St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Ala., is giving its health care providers access to real-time and historical critical data via wireless devices using a wireless LAN provided by BellSouth using Cisco equipment. The hospital is in the final phase of a digital initiative that includes computerized physician order entry that lets physicians review patient information and electronically place orders for care.
