Creator Skyrockit, a mobile entertainment studio, announced today that after enjoying success on Nokia handsets and the iPhone, it's launching an Android version, initially through AT&T's Android Marketplace.

Separately, Skyrockit also announced that Sprint has selected it to manage Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA's "audio assets." Skyrockit said it "will act as the interface with all major labels, independent labels, aggregators and publishers, while managing both the back-end system for catalog assets and client-side look and feel for subscribers' phones."

Skyrockit, seemingly the coolest kids in mobility, now aggregates and distributes music content for all four major U.S. operators.

"The Skyrockit deal with Sprint is indicative of a greater focus on music offerings from carriers, and goes beyond the simple download consumption pattern of the past," Mobile World analyst Tole Hart discussing its latest deal. "People have greater options in creating, managing and shuttling their music than ever before, and across multiple devices, and this will require a new level of service from carriers and their partners to ensure brand loyalty.”

As for Romplr's dual-revenue model, it can be sold by carriers and app stores directly to consumers, or through brand campaigns where it's free to consumers and the brand picks up the bill. VitaminWater — one such "brand ambassador," per Skyrockit — recently brought in rapper 50 Cent and, with Romplr, created the iPhone 50 Sound Lab app, which let users mix 50 Cent's new single. the app cruised to the number one spot in iPhone's Free Music Apps category and was the number nine overall free iPhone app.

With Romplr now on offer to AT&T Android owners, Skyrockit CEO Jon Vlassopulus said he was looking forward to partnering with more handset manufacturers and mobile operators, who may also be happy to take his calls. Syrockit's apps have been downloaded by more than 25 million consumers and generated more than $300 million for its partners.
