WorldCom speeds traffic; Qwest, Sonus ink deal

WorldCom speeds traffic with Optisphere

In a trial of Siemens subsidiary Optisphere's optical networking equipment, WorldCom reached speeds of 3.2 Tb/s on existing network fiber. To reach that speed, the companies used 80 wavelengths, each at 40 Gb/s.
