THE WIRELESS INTERNET OPPORTUNITY

It's a businessman's world — especially when you're talking about wireless data. The vast majority of wireless data revenues come from enterprises wanting to keep their employees constantly jacked in to the corporate network, but that may be changing. While business applications will always dominate the data waves, Kagan expects the enterprise monopoly to dwindle as consumer and entertainment uses of the wireless Internet become more popular. Don't expect there to be a resurgence of online advertising over the airwaves, though — Kagan predicts advertising to eke just over 1% of total data revenues by 2011.
