Wireless data to explode by 2004

Cahners In-Stat Group expects the wireless data market to grow from about 170 million subscribers worldwide in 2000 to more than 1.3 billion in 2004. In addition, the firm predicts that more than 1.5 billion handsets, PDAs and other Internet-enabled devices will be equipped with wireless capabilities by the end of the same year.
