Video Shorts C&W launches Internet backbone plans

Cable & Wireless' Internet business unit has entered an agreement with ISP Erols Internet & Computers to develop a national backbone for Internet access. The two companies will concentrate first on East Coast cities, including Washington, D.C.; Baltimore; Richmond, Va.; Norfolk, Va.; Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; Boston; Hartford, Conn.; and New York.

MITI delivered for Olympic coverage Satellite carrier Intelsat used software from MITI for core management, scheduling and billing functions for live satellite television coverage of the Olympics. MITI's SQR reporting system allowed Intelsat to take on-line orders for satellite coverage, distribute internal and external reports on satellite capacity and booking, schedule satellite services, forecast capacity requirements and bill customers for satellite time.
