Money for OSS; Payback time
Hosted OSS provider Synchronoss Technologies completed its first round of funding of $34 million from six investment firms, which include ABS Ventures, Rosewood Venture Group, Ascent Venture Partners, Adam Street Partners, Liberty Ventures and C.E. Unterberg, Towbin. The money will be used to expand market and product development for the company's ActivationNow OSS platform. Synchronoss has customer agreements with AT&T, Qwest Communications and WorldCom.

Alcatel released the Broadband OSS Solution Pack, part of the company's next generation network applications, which helps operators in multivendor and multitechnology networks deploy broadband services via DSL, LMDS and cable TV networks. Available applications include customer care and billing, service fulfillment and service assurance for DSL services.
